" There are as many nights as days, and the one is just as long as the other in the year's course. Even a happy life cannot be without a measure of darkness, and the word 'happy' would lose its meaning if it were not balanced by sadness. "

22.12.2009

22nd Dec. This day will definitely go down as the all-time insane birthday celebration ever. It's also the day when I turn 18! So, I am legal now ! Well, partially. I can legally spike my drink though it is not going to happen anytime soon.

Anyway, as the birthday girl, I had the privilege of selecting my choice of birthday cake and the dinner spot. I didn't exactly get what I wanted. Initially, the top choice was blueberry cheesecake from e`toile. This cake can only be bought from Equatorial Hotel, KL. It is THE most out-of-this-world cheesecake ever. The chefs blend the cheese and blueberry together so it would be even. Every bite you take, the cake will melt on your tongue. It's enough to make anyone go bananas for it. Alas, they don't have it as it has to pre-booked a few days in advance. It was too expensive anyway.

I opted for a second alternative. "Let's go to Secret Recipe instead." Off we went. I was craving for White Chocolate Macadamia which is another awesome cake. This time, I was told that the management decided to discontinue the cake. ): Sigh. Now, what ? After much deliberation, I chose the newly introduced Pecan Butterscotch cake. Tasted like White Choc Mac though.

Dinner time. We as in my mum, sis, aunt, grandma and I went to Bubba Gump, The Curve to makan ! It's my second time there. Food's not bad though it is deemed pricey. We ordered Captain's Fish & Chips, Bourbon Street Mahi Mahi, "I'm Stuffed!" Shrimp, Shrimp New Orleans, and Cajun Shrimp for the main courses. For drinks, I had some peanut butter smoothie. Unusual but tasty. *yum yum* Have a look at the MENU. There's more on the actual menu.

Towards the end of the meal, we requested for the staffs there to bring the cake out. To my utmost surprise, they started banging the tables and the walls. We were all looking left and right with a tinge of panic vividly shown on our faces ! Next thing I knew, I was standing on a chair while holding a bottle of ketchup! O.O

Next, I was asked to sing two lines from any song. Kill me please ! I couldn't think of any songs to sing as I have yet to recover from the shock. So, one of them suggested Jingle Bells which I gladly obliged to. Then, it was their turn to serenade me. Ahem. They made me shake my booty ! *sob*

Finally, I had to blow the candles off from one end to another. Haha. Once all the candles were extinguished, they gave me my cake back. Relief.

After all that, it is time to cut the cake ! If you look properly, it is actually melting. Lol. Of course we gave the wonderful staff some cake. They were the ones who made it all memorable.

I look so different here. Flustered no doubt. By the way, this is Shasha. One of the most bubbly person I have ever met. She is hands down awesome.

I took a few more photos with my family. It's all in the laptop's hard drive. :D

Great day indeed.

One word : Unforgettable.
